NEW! Our website has been updated to feature more information and interactive pages for Parents, Campers, Staff, and Alumni! Check it out! Over the past 61 years the face of camp has changed drastically. Many of these changes have taken place in part because of the wonderful volunteers and donors who are dedicated to making Talooli a great place for children to return to year after year.
Talooli Timeline
|
| 1994- The Elfun Society constructs The Stage complete with electricity. The Stage is used daily and is an integral part of camp. Campers use the Stage to play games, play 4-Square in the rain, eat lunch, hang out, and often it is used for special programming in the afternoons. | ![]() |
| 1996-1997- The platform tents in Ayan Cabin site are removed and a group of volunteers, the Elfun Society, construct three new cabins. This feature has allowed us to offer more overnight spots to campers who enjoy looking out of the cabin windows across the lake. | ![]() |
| 1998- The Elfun Soceity constructs the Nature Den. This activity - formerly held in the boat house - now has its own area complete with an inside area where campers can observe fish and turtles, as well as an outside area where campers sit on benches and observe wildlife. | ![]() |

2002- Camp Talooli Launches its Capital Campaign to make
improvements to structures in camp and add new ones. Videographers
shoot a campaign video to promote Camp Talooli and Camp Fire USA
and the benefits they provide to children in the community
2003- Challenge Course is built in the Pine Plantation. The Talooli Tall Pines Team Challenge Course includes low-ropes team building elements that are designed to promote teamwork, communication, and problem solving among campers. |

| 2005-2006- Construction begins on a new shower house to be located on the boy's side of the lake between the CIT cabins and Ayan cabin site. This will allow the boys to shower on their side of the lake and will provide more shower stalls for the groups. | ![]() |
| Future- With the help of the Capital Campaign Camp Talooli is planning on bringing many new features to make camp a more enjoyable place for campers to return to and also to offer our programming to more children. |
|
New Features for the Future New Dining hall that will accommodate more children in our Resident Camp program. The new dining hall will feature administrative offices, a new commercial kitchen equipped with dishwashers, and a dining area for campers.
Cabin Areas that will allow us to offer our resident camp program to more campers. Two additional sites are projected, one on the boy's side of the lake and one on the girl's side.
New Shower House will be added on the girl's side of the lake. This will allow the current shower house to become a staff shower house and the girls can shower on their side of the lake. Improved Swimming Area will alter the beach area and line the lake to allow better visibility in the water and a smoother bottom for swimmers.
Boardwalk encircling the rest of the lake will allow for easier travel around the lake and will also provide further accessibility to individuals with disabilities. New Ranger's Cabin will provide a larger space for the Camp Talooli ranger to live in while caring for the grounds.
